It was the office chair that was trying to kill me, not the couch. I sit in that chair so many more hours than I ever sit on the couch. And one day two years ago I got horrible back muscle spasms while sitting in it. I changed it for one with a more upright back and have had no problems since. Although I'm still planning on upgrading my home office with a standing desk.
Smart. But you can improvise in the meantime like I do. Did you watch my Ditch the Chair video? I think it's also important to rotate between different positions too. I sit on the Muista chair, stand, even sit in the Seiza position with my laptop sometimes, regular chair sometimes makes an appearance too, as does the big red ball. Maybe the best position is the "next position" :D Move.
Yes I did see that video and I really appreciate the ideas on work space setup you showed. Meanwhile, the standing desk converter I've had my eye on for over a year refuses to go on sale 🤨, so I'm just making my own. I think I can finish it this weekend.
Yes. If you want something done right (or at the right price) you just have to do it yourself sometimes… I put a long desk surface over 3 bookcases and am quite happy with that. Good luck with your DYI project. I’d love to see the photo when it’s finished :D
Beautiful 😍 Looks like you're the captain!! 😉 I recently made myself a larger standing desk too. I bought a raw wood surface for it and put it in top of 3 small bookshelves. I'm worried a little about staining it, bit for now I love both the touch and the smell (well, I love the touch after I sanded it down a little).
Thanks! I've had these plywood boards for a few years now, but when I was drilling holes for the screws, they still released a beautiful scent of pine forests 🥰
Oh cult leader you are right, I love being active but I think may be gone off track last few days - that said it is Sunday so ohmmmmm

I will probably apply some sort of clear coating on it so the stains don't soak into the wood, but otherwise, it's finished!
